MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 21, 1982
. The 1982 session of the Board of Review reconvened at 7:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by the Board Chairman, Gerald
Tang. Also present were Board MembEJrs Merton Bowyer, Mary
Steinweber and Hs,rry BrodE!l, City CJI.erlt Stewart, Assef sor DeAngelis,
and City Attorney John Macey. Jlbsent was Board Membe] Dennis Neubert.
The objection of Mr. . Arthur WiNlelmann, Sl04 \1115169 L< omis Drive,
Tax Key #2298.981.001, was heard. J\ motion was made ly Board
Member U. Bowyer to sustain thE' assEJssrnent as determir ed by the
Assessor. Motiol1l seconded by Mr. Brod.:!l. Upon a voil e vote, motion
carried unanimous:1y.

Key #2189.235, WSlS heard. A motion was made by Board Uember Harry
Brodel and seconded by Merton Bowyer, that the assess! lent as
determined by thEI AssesElo]~ be sustained. Upon a voicl vote, the
motion carried unanimom;ly.

A motion was made by ChaiJrman Tang :llnd seconded by Ma:y Steinweber
to hear the obje<:t ion oj~ Mr. Raymond. Gwnieny, 20099 AI '.rian Dr.,

wished to set a precedent by milking an except:ion to t'lis deadline
requirement or whether thl3: Board wished to reeognj.ze ,hat the notice
was mailed to tbl~ owner of' the property as of 1-1-82 LS required by
law, but not rece!i ved by Mr. Gumieny since he had pur :hased the
property since that date. It was the feeling of the ~ard that since
Mr. Gumieny had been in cl:mtact with the Assessor con :erning his
assessment prior to the d,sadline and had expr':!ssed a )ossibili ty of
filing an objection upon receipt of notice of change -n assessment
and since the notice was not forwarded by the previou; owner of
record to Mr. Guruieny, th'E! Board felt justifieation i I hearing his
objection at thi:;; time.
Upon a voice votle to he:a.r the objection of Mr. Gumien" the motion
was adopted unan imously .
Upon the advice IDf Atty'. ~rohn Macey, Mr. Wheeler, rep~esentative
of Mr. Gumieny, wrote a wniver of the 24 hour not:lce EoI' hearing,
and the review of the ClbjE~ctiol1 was he:ard.
A motion was made by Board Member Eowyer to allow the assessment to
remain as determined by the Assessor, motion seconded by Mary
Steinweber. UPOI1 a roll call vote, members Brodel, B)wyer and
Steinweber voted aye, Chairman Tang vCited no. The motion to sustain
the assessment as determined by the Assessor carried.
A motion to close the 1982 Assessment Roll and to adj)urn upon the
mailing by the Clerk of the Notices 01~ Determination )f the Board
of Review was made by Board Member Bowyer, and second 3d by Mr.
Brode1. Upon a voice votl~. motion carried unanimousl v. The 1982
session of the Board of Review was adjourned at 10:23 P.M.
