MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 1.3, 19516
The Board of Review of the Ci"ty of MuskeÇJo was called to order
by Clerk-Treasurer Jean Marenda at 10:00 A.M. Also ]>resent
were board members Thomas Kin"tis, C:ollE~tt.E~ Klenz, He] try
Posbrig, Lynda Guhr and Michael Hanrahan and Assesso:: Laura
Mecha.
Clerk-Treas. Marenda gave the Oath of Office to new Iæmber
Collette Klenz and re-appointl:dl member Michael Hanrahan. It
was noted the other members have a current Oath on f..le.
Clerk-Treas. Marenda reported this mee1:inÇJ was noticE!d in
accordance with the open meeting la.w on J!~pril .30, 19~16.
Clerk-Treas. Marenda requested nominations for ChaiTI~n. Mr.
Hanrahan nominated Ms. Guhr. ~[s. Klenz moved lto clo::e
nominations and cast a unanimous vote for Ms. Guhr. Mr.
Posbrig seconded, motion carrie~d. Lynda Guhr ~I'las elE!cted as
Chairman.
Chairman Guhr requested nominations for Vice-chairma]l. Mr.
Kintis nominated Mr. Hanrahan. Mr. Posbrig moved to close
nominations and cast a unanimous vot.e for Mr. Hanrahiln. Ms.
Klenz seconded, motion carried. Michael Hanrahan wa:: elected
as Vice-chairman.
Assessor Mecha presented the assessor's report. The 1996
valuation of real property is $998,199,,700, a .3.6% increase
overall. She noted commercial value increased 7.9% 1.0
$101,273,100. Agricultural value increased .8%, and it was
noted that tillable agricultural property value is f:"ozen at
the 1995 level per state law. Residential value is
$883,052,000. $13,987,785 is Personal Property.
Clerk-Treas. Marenda advised that one objection had ]>een filed
this morning from John W. Wiza for property at W194 :;7823
Overlook Bay Rd., Unit 10. Mr. Wiza is not prepared to appear
before the Board today. By the end of the day, appo..ntments
will have to be scheduled to hE!ar all ob~iE~ctions filE!d.
Discussion will continue after the Board has reviewe<[ the roll.
As t:his time the Board reviewl:d thE! roll in acc:ordan(:e with
Stat:e Statutes.
At 4: 00 P. M. Chairman Guhr amlOUnCE!d the Board had completed
review of the roll. Chairman Guhr set the next meet..ng date to
hear objections which have been filed :EOI.' Tuesday" MilY 21, 1996
at 6:00 P.M., subject to the availability of the Cit~r
Attorney. It was noted by Clerk-Treas. Marenda that several

asked if the Board would hear any objections filed a~ter
adjournment today. Mr. Kintis moved that t:he Clerk c,m accept a
motion for late hearing which can b.~ SChE~duled for Tllesday, May
21, 1996 and reasons for legitimate objection can be heard at
that: time if the 48 hour notice is waived.. Ms. Klen: seconded,
motion carried.
Mr. Kintis moved to approve the assessment roll for .996 with
the exception of objections filed by RobE~rt Fitzsimmons, John
Wiza, Jeffrey & Ziebbie Evans and Lee & Laura Kings~lry, with
no further objections to be received without permiss .on of the
Board and further moved to adjourn to Tuesday, May 2., 1996 at
6:00 P.M. to hear the above objections. Mr. Hanrahall seconded,
motion carried.
