BOARD OF REVIEW Minutes 051100 BOARD OF REVIEW CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 11, 2000 The Board of Review of the City of Muskego was called to order by Chairman Lynda Guhr at 7:00 PM. Also present were Board Members William Jasinski, Thomas Kintis, Henry Posbrig and AlternateTom Duranso; Atty. John Macy representing the Board; Clerk-Treasurer Jean Marenda; Assessor Laura Mecha; Reid Terry from Cole Layer Trumble (CLT), Atty. Steve Hayes representing the Assessor, and Court Reporter Beth Zimmerman. Clerk-Treasurer Marenda stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meeting law. She noted that the objection filed by Deloitte & Touche for Sentry Foods had been withdrawn. Clerk-Treasurer Marenda called the case of Parkland Venture, LLC, Arthur D. Dyer, Agent, Tax Key No. 2198.984, S74 W17000 Janesville Rd. Total assessed value is $711,000, land only. The property owner’s opinion of fair market value is $199,000. Mr. Art Dyer requested that all witnesses be sequestered. Mr. Jasinski moved to deny the request. Mr. Posbrig seconded. Motion carried 4-0. Witnesses Reid Terry, Laura Mecha, Sean McMullen, Kevin Thompson, Art Dyer and George Resch were sworn in by Clerk-Treasurer Marenda. The Board heard sworn testimony on the objection filed by Arthur D. Dyer for Parkland Venture, LLC. Mr. Posbrig moved that the Board hereby determines that the Assessor’s valuation of $711,000 is correct; that the Assessor presented evidence of the fair market value of the subject property using assessment methods which conform to the statutory requirements and which are outlined in Wisconsin Property Assessment Manual; the taxpayer did not present sufficient evidence to rebut the presumption of accuracy granted by law to the Assessor; and, finds that the assessment is reasonable in light of all the relevant evidence, and sustains the same as set by the Assessor. Mr. Kintis seconded. Motion carried 4-0. Clerk-Treasurer Marenda provided Mr. Dyer with the Notice of Board of Review Determination. Mr. Kintis moved that the 2000 Board of Review hereby approves the 2000 assessment roll as presented by the City Assessor, and having performed all of its statutory duties and completed all of its work that came before the Board, the Board of Review adjourns sine die, subject to the Clerk fulfilling the Clerk’s statutory duties. Mr. Posbrig seconded. Motion carried 4-0. The meeting adjourned at 2:30 AM. Respectfully submitted, Jean K.
