BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 23, 1993
The meeting was called to order at 7:41 P.M. by Mayor
Salentine. Also present were Commissioners Patterson, Dumke,
Misko, Sanders, Schneider, Simmons and Taube, City Clerk Marenda
and Deputy Clerk Blenski. Also present were Deputy
Commissioners Flancher, Jones, and Pilak. Attorney Molter
arrived at 8:15 P.M.
Commissioner Patterson moved for approval of minutes of meeting
held January 26, 1993. Commissioner Misko seconded. Carried.
Mr. Mohsen Amiran, a chemist with BioGenesis Enterprises, Inc.,
gave a short presentation about the possibility of a dredging
project his company is considering to remove sediment from the
lake. Mr. Spruck, a partner to Mr. Amiran, also appeared. This
project may be completed without a cost to the district as the
sediment that is removed can be sold. Preliminary findings
indicate that there are no toxic chemicals in the lake. The
total time frame for the project would be about two to three
years. Mr. Amiran stated that additional information will have
to be obtained before any commitment can be made by
Biogenesis. Mr. Robert Klenz spoke in favor of this endeavor.
Commissioner Simmons moved to have deputy commissioners pursue
project. Seconded by Commissioner Dumke. Carried 7-0.
Deputy Commissioner Pilak reported on the status of the Priority
Lake Designation Program. The last meeting was held December
3. "Program is going full steam ahead." The next meeting will
take place Thursday, March 25 at 4:00 P.M. A logo has been
chosen. Commissioner Sanders stated that people in the Ryan
Road area will be invited to the next Public Utilities Committee
Meeting. Mayor asked if Priority Lakes money would be available
for use. Deputy Commissioner Jones responded no, however, low
interest loans are available.
Commissioner Dumke gave an update on the status of the transfer
of Big Muskego Lake Dam. The Council members and City Engineers
have expressed concerns about the acceptance of the dam. A draw
down will allow further inspection of the dam. Deputy
Commissioner Pilak stated a practice run may take place this
fall.
The Public Utilities Committee has recommended to direct the
City Engineers to commence with the design of the Hwy. 36 lift
station and interceptors (Southeast Sewer Project). This item
is on Council agenda for this evening.

Proposed public access and the status of the EPA grant was
discussed. Deputy Commissioner Pilak has been unsuccessful in
his attempts to contact Mr. Klauser. Mayor Salentine and
Commissioner Dumke will pursue this matter. The grant is on
hold due to the uncertainties regarding the public access and
the proposed draw down.
There was discussion relating to Tax Key No. 2270.995 as to
whether or not it was in or out of the district. Deputy
Commissioners will continue to review as determination could not
be made at the present time.
Commissioner Patterson moved to adjourn at 8:17 P.M.
Commissioner Schneider seconded. Carried.
