Commissioner Taube reported on the status of the Priority

still has to do their surveying of their watershed. That's
as far as they have gotten in the grant process. Deputy
Commissioner Pilak stated the latest meeting brought
guidelines for the Advisory Committee and elected Kathy
Aron, Chairperson; Howie Schneider, Vice Chairman; and
Leonard Pilak, Secretary. The three grants approved were

Freedom Square ponds. The next meeting will be held

On the status of the transfer of the Big Muskego Dam, Mayor
Salentine stated we have a closed session on the Council
agenda and we'll have comments after further evaluation.
Commissioner Sanders asked the deputies how they felt about
taking over the dam. Deputy Commissioner Pilak stated it
was our request in the beginning to take over the dam as
long as certain things such as repairs were being done.
The status of the Southeast area sewer plan was reviewed.
Commissioner Sanders stated not too much has happened yet.
The amendments for the Highway 45 corridor are still at
MMSD. The DNR plans to go along with it.
Commissioner Taube moved for approval of an engagement
letter for 1992 audit with Conley McDonald. Commissioner
Sanders seconded carried.
Deputy Commissioner Pilak stated we have been invited to
join the Waukesha County Lakes Association with a fee of
$50. There are 80 lakes in Waukesha County and it would be
prudent for us to join so we could be a role model for plans
on other lakes. Taube moved for approval to join. Simmons
seconded, carried.

Board of Commissioners Meeting
October 27, 1992
Deputy Commissioner Pilak stated that the deputies have a
hard time recruiting five deputies and getting a quorum at
meetings and felt it was advisable that their service be
recognized. He noted that Les Proeber has put a lot of time
and money in the efforts of the Big Muskego Lake District
and requested that a letter of commendation be sent to him
as he resigned after 12 years of service. A letter will be
sent by Chairman Salentine on behalf of the commissioners.
Deputy Commissioner Pilak stated they would like to somehow
get their money sooner rather than waiting for the money to
be collected and some of the funds being collected on the
tax roll the next year.
Commissioner Taube moved to adjourn at 7:50 P.M.
Commissioner Schneider seconded, carried.
Respectfully submitted,
M &AA,
ayK. Marenda, CMC Clerk
