BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 24, 1992
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 PM by Mayor Salentine.
Also present were Commissioners Dumke, Hilt, Patterson, Sanders,
Simmons, and Taube, City Clerk Marenda, Deputy City Clerk
Cichocki and Attorney Trindl. Also present were Deputy
Commissioners Flancher, Galten, Proeber, and Sorenson.
Commissioner Hilt moved for approval of minutes of meeting held
January 28, 1992. Commissioner Sanders seconded. Carried.
Deputy Commissioner Proeber reported that a study of the Big
Muskego Lake watershed is needed. The sewer and watershed
grants need to be in place before other grants would be approved.
Mayor Salentine stated the City is ready to close on the
transfer of the Big Muskego Lake Dam. Commissioner Sanders
moved to direct the City not to accept the Big Muskego Lake Dam
until the repairs are completed and inspected. Commissioner
Taube seconded. Carried 6-0.
Deputy Commissioner Proeber reported on his attendance of the
14th Annual Wisconsin Lakes Convention (attached). Highlights
of the convention include:
• $7.5 million available in grant monies. Make grant request
for more than what is needed.
• The number of boats registered in Wisconsin have greatly
increased. These figures are used to establish a formula
for the amount of grant monies to be available.
• New law on jet skis states no one under age 12 can operate
a jet ski; age 15 or older needs a permit.
0 New law by April on snowmobiles; intoxication law and
penalties will be same as for autos.
Commissioner Dumke moved to adjourn at 7:52 P.M. Commissioner
Simmons seconded. Carried.
