BMLCommM19890314BIG MUSKEGO/BASS BAY PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 14, 1989 The meeting was called to order at 8:02 p.m. Present were Mayor Salentine, Commissioners Dumke, Hilt, Penovich, Sanders and Taube, City Attorney Molter and City Clerk Marenda. Aldermen Patterson and Repischak were absent. Also present were Deputy Commissioners Pilak and Oschmann. Commissioner Hilt moved for approval of the minutes of meeting held February 14, 1989. Commissioner Penovich seconded, carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Update on Status of Big Muskego Lake Dam - The City will not accept ownership of the dam until review of a SEWPRC study is completed. Status of Schultz Lane - Atty. Molter advised a delay has been caused with this project due to the fact that the legal descriptions of the property in question have been changed and consequently several of the easement documents need to be changed. There is a problem securing a clear title on the Suchy easement which also needs to be resolved. Regarding the boat launch, Deputy Commissioner Pilak stated that four out of the five businesses on the lake have signed a ten year agreement regulating their boat launching fees. It is anticipated that Mr. Sobek will be signing also. The DNR will then provide funds for the rehabilitation of the lake. Emerald Park Update - The final proposal is to be reviewed on March 22, 1989. Discussion of Expanded Sewer Service Area - The Clerk read a letter from the Deputy Commissioners stating their support of the expanded sewer service area. NEW BUSINESS Commissioner Penovich moved for approval of payment of U. S. Geological Survey voucher for 1988 services in the amount of $3,000.00. Commissioner Taube seconded, carried 5-0. Commissioner Taube moved for approval of payment of The Wisconsin Association of Lake District's voucher in the amount of $100.00. Commissioner Sanders seconded, carried 5-0. Big Muskego Lake/Bass Bay Minutes 3/14/89 - Page 2 Deputy Commissioner Pilak reported that the DNR has been contacted regarding the feasibility of a lake draw -down due to the carp problem. He advised that if Mr. Sobek signs the agreement regulating boat launching fees, the DNR may help with the cost. He stated he felt the draw -down would be the cheapest and most thorough method of carp eradication. Commissioner Hilt moved to adjourn at 8:20 p.m. Commissioner Penovich seconded, carried.
