BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 11, 1988.
The meeting was called to order at 7:33 p.m. Present were Mayor
Salentine, Commissioners Dumke, Hilt, Patterson, Penovich and
Sanders and City Clerk Marenda. Commissioners Taube and
Repischak were absent. Also present were Deputy Commissioners

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
It was announced that Leonard Pilak had been elected Chairman of
the Deputy Commissioners and Jeff Verburgt elected Secretary.
Deputy Commissioner Pilak reported on the status of the public
access to Big Muskego Lake. He stated that the contract would be
between the DNR and Mr. Klauser. However, the DNR will not
proceed until the Schultz Lane project is completed. Prior to
the signing of the contract, Mr. Klauser has agreed to review the
matter with the Deputy Commissioners, who will review with the
Commissioners. Mayor Salentine noted that the specs could be
prepared now for starting the bidding process. A relocation
order has been adopted regarding the Suchy drainage easement
Deputy Commissioner Pilak reported on the status of the Big
Muskego Lake dam. He advised that John Loughney had suggested
that monies be obtained from the State to pay for an inspection
of the dam by the City's engineer and also for an attorney's
review of legal documents for the two adjacent property owners
Mr. Pilak stated that property owner Repischak notified him that
all the debris around the dam site has been cleaned up and he
would like to send a letter to the DNR thanking them for their
cooperation. It was decided to wait to send the letter until
after the negotiations for obtaining the money for engineering
and the property owners legal fees and obtaining a management
plan had been received.
Deputy Commissioner Pilak noted that Mr. Tobin has been working
on the carp removal project, and has been unsuccessful in finding
anyone to remove the carp. He also reported that the water
testing is proceeding with the results and bill to be received in
February.
Deputy Commissioner Pilak stated that the Deputies were drafting
a letter to Emerald Park requesting funds for additional testing
sites on Big Muskego Lake. A similar letter will also be sent to
Future Parkland, as their activities are located within the
District's watershed.
