BMLCommM19860610BIG MUSKEGO LAKE/BASS BAY PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 10, 1986 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Salentine at 7:25 P.M. Also present were Commissioners DeAngelis, Dumke, Hilt, Patterson (arr.7:34 P.M.), Penovich, Sanders and Taube, City Clerk Stewart and City Atty. Molter. Commissioner Dumke moved for approval of payment of vouchers in the amount of $161.28. Taube seconded, carried 6-0. Sanders moved to set the Annual Meeting Date for Wednesday, August 27, 1986 at 7:00 P.M. Taube seconded, carried 6-0. The Deputy Commissioners recommended that the notice for the meeting be published in the offical newspaper with no individual mailing to property owners. Mayor Salentine reported on his meeting with the State Building Commission in Madison regarding the dam. He stated the DNR agreed to those items requested by the City except for the 5 year warranty. The DNR indicated they required a one year guarantee from the contractor on the work, and would not consider a 5 year warranty. The DNR will put together a Memorandum of Understanding which will be submitted to the Common Council for approval. The dam will be constructed with a bottom gate. The current level will not change, but it will be easier to manage that level. Dumke objected to a lower water level. Deputy Commissioner Proeber explained that if the City would not approve the DNR proposal, it would be a low water dam. But, if we accept, we will manage the dam as we do now. The only change to our proposal is the one year guarantee instead of 5 years. The Mayor stated the DNR will hold a public hearing prior to the expenditure for this project. At the time the Memorandum of Understanding is received, the Deputy Commissioners will be sent a copy for their input prior to action by the Common Council. Commissioner Taube moved to adjourn at 7:40 P.M. Commissioner Penovich seconded, carried. Respectfully Charlotte L. City Clerk jm submitted, Stewart
