BMLCommM19830208BIG MUSKEGO LAKE/BASS BAY PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MINUTES OF MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 8, 1983 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Salentine at 8:19 P.M. Also present were Commissioners Dumke, Nilsson, Klenz, Treba, Penovich and Tomczyk and City Clerk Stewart. Deputy Commissioner Chuck Harris advised the Commissioners that they have retained an attorney, Mr. William O'Connor, Madison, Wisconsin, a member of a law firm representing all lake districts in the State of Wisconsin. He indicated they are awaiting a court date and whether or not the $500.00 retainer fee would be acceptable. In regard to the,sta,tus of the Water Quality Study of Big Muskego Lake, Mr. Harris advised the deputy commissioners would like to have a letter from the city to the DNR in an effort to obtain some sort of commitment from them as to when the study would be complete. Chairman Salentine advised a letter would be written to the DNR. Mr. Harris indicated the deputy commissioners would like to hold a district meeting on March 7th and then in May it was hoped to have the annual meeting to bring the people up to date regarding the Scott Krause detachment request and the Water Quality Study and to present a petition whereby the Board of Commissioners would be elected from members of the district and not the Common Council. Commissioner Klenz moved to set Monday, March 7, 1983 at 7:30 P.M. in the Little Theater of the High School as a meeting date of the members of the district to discuss the above matters. Seconded by Commissioner Dumke. Motion carried. Commissioner Penovich moved to pay the $500.00 retainer fee to Attorney William O'Connor to represent the district in the matter of the Scott Krause detachment request. Seconded by Commissioner Tomczyk. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Tanc2k•noved to approve the expenditure of $80.00-$100.00 tocov costs of the meeting notice. Seconded by Commissioner Penovich. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Klenz moved to pay the voucher in the amount of $83.00 to the Waukesha County Register of Deeds for filing fees for those property owners that have detached from the Big Lake District. Seconded by Commissioner Penovich. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, Commissioner Nilsson moved to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Dumke. Motion carried.
