BMLCommM19820126BIG MUSKEGO LAKE/BASS BAY PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY, 26, 1982
Chairman Gottfried called the meeting to order at 7:50 P.M. Also
present were Commissioners Dumke, Klenz, Radtke, Knudsen, Penovich,
Salentine and Steinberg and City Clerk Stewart.
Chairman Gottfried advised the purpose of the meeting was to authorize
the books of the district to be audited. He requested a motion be
made to that effect.
Commissioner Knudsen expressed concern that the same auditing firm
had been the auditors for the lake district as well as the city's
auditors. He questioned how the deputy commissioners felt about this
conflict of interest.
Chairman Gottfried stated he did not think a large amount of money
has been spent on the auditing of the district's books.
Chairman of the Deputy Commissioners, Estel Ellery, stated he would
also like to see a different auditing firm. Chairman Gottfried
indicated that a new firm would go through all past audits and it would
probably cost a large sum of money.
A discussion took place as to what the expenditures were for the previcus
year and whether or not they would become a part of the TIF project.
Commissioner Knudsen moved to have the books of the Big Muskego Lake/
Bass Bay Protection and Rehabilitation District be audited by another
firm. His motion lost for lack of a second.
Commissioner Radtke moved to have Conley, McDonald and Sprague & Co.
audit the books of the Big Muskego Lake/Bass Bay Protection and
Rehabilitation District. Seconded by Commissioner Klenz. Following
further discussions regarding Commissioner Knudsen's concerns, upon
a roll call vote on the motion to have Conley, McDonald and Sprague &
Co. audit the books of the Big Muskego Lake/Bass Bay Protection and
Rehabilitation District, Commissioner Dumke, Klenz, Radtke and
Salentine voted "aye". Commissioners Penovich, Knudsen and Steinberg
voted "no". The motion carried.
Commissioner Knudsen moved to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner
Steinberg. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:08 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Charlotte L. Stewart, City Clerk
