NEW BUSINESS
Deputy Commissioner’s Update - Current Condition of Lake/Bay, Water Levels, Plant
Growth, Fish and Wildlife
Mr. Pilak reported the following:
The high level of water is causing issues with cat tail bogs floating in the lake and
blocking channels. Considering the possibility of hiring a dredging company to remove
the cat tail bogs physically. Input and approval would be needed from the Department
of Natural Resources. The lack of cat tails in the lake could pose potential problems or
a drawdown in the future. There are funds available in the weed control account.
They are waiting for the results of two fish surveys completed by the DNR.
The water quality is poor due to the runoff. The weather has played a major role in
rapid weed growth, less wildlife and fishing.
The last drawdown took place in 1997.

Commissioner Kapusta moved to adjourn at 6:26 p.m. Commissioner Madden
