REHABILITATION DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF QUARTERLY MEETING HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2011
Mayor Chiaverotti called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present were
Commissioners Fiedler, Schaumberg, Soltysiak, Werner, Borgman, Harenda, and
Snead, Conservation Coordinator Zagar and Assistant Deputy Clerk Chavie. Deputy
Commissioner Paulson was also present. Those present recited the Pledge of
Allegiance. Ms. Chavie stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open
Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Harenda moved for approval of the June 28, 2011 minutes.
Commissioner Soltysiak seconded. Motion carried 7 in favor.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Commissioner Soltysiak moved to approve the voucher in the amount of
$4,168.75 for Marine Biochemists. Mr. Zagar stated the voucher was for the
treatment of Eurasion Milfoil on Bass Bay, which was done late summer/early fall.
Good results have been realized with fall treatments. Commissioner Borgman
seconded. Motion carried 7 in favor.
OLD BUSINESS
Update Regarding Current Condition of Lake/Bay, Water Levels, Plant Growth,
Fish and Wildlife
Mr. Zagar stated that Deputy Commissioner Burmeister was scheduled to give the
report, but could not be in attendance. Mr. Zagar reported the following:
• The lake level is now back up substantially with the recent rainfall and the
lowering of Little Muskego Lake. The lake is at about 11 feet now. The dam crest
is at 11.5 feet. He believes the lake will be back to full pool prior to freezing.
• The drawdown was effective in regrowing some of the emergent plants.
• Fishery is still in good health.
• As far as wildlife, duck hunting is fair.
Status of Bia Muskeao Lake Wildlife Area - Land Acauisition by the DNR
Mr. Zagar stated there was nothing new to report. It is his understanding that the DNR
has been actively communicating with some property owners.
NEW BUSINESS
Election of Secretary and Treasurer
Commissioner Fiedler moved to elect Jill Blenski to serve as Secretary for the
Lake District. Commissioner Soltysiak seconded. Motion carried 7 in favor.
Commissioner Fiedler moved to elect Sharon Mueller to serve as Treasurer for
the Lake District. Commissioner Werner seconded. Motion carried 7 in favor.

uest for Exemption from DNR for anv Low Flow Reauirement from Dam Outlet
Mr. Zagar stated there is a statutory requirement that a minimal flow be maintained from
the dam to maintain fish habitat downstream. The dam is currently closed. The DNR is
asking that the City submit a formal request for an exemption from the statutory
requirement. Aid. Fiedler moved to recommend to the Common Council that a
request for an exemption be submitted to the DNR. Aid. Harenda seconded.
Motion carried 7 in favor.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Snead moved to adjourn at 6:43 p.m. Commissioner Fiedler
seconded; motion carried.
