OLD BUSINESS
Deputy Commissioners' Update -
Current Condition of Lake/Bay, Water Levels, Plant Growth, Fish and Wildlife
Mr. Zagar reported the following:
• There was a lightening induced fire on the west shore on May 26. 220 acres of
cattail marsh were burned. There was no structural damage or injuries. The fire
swept past the osprey platform. Several ospreys hatched. Unfortunately, the
birds perished probably due to the storms that came through the area.
• Three eagles are in the nest on the south part of the lake. They should be close
to fledging.
• Water level of lake is high because of the amount of rain. The bog barriers did a
good job of stopping material from getting to the dam.
• Marine Biochemists did a chemical weed treatment on the lake and Bass Bay.
• The Natural Resources Board approved the 40" limit size for Northern Pike. The
issue still has to go to the legislature. The new limit would not go into effect until
next spring.

ADJOURNMENT

seconded; motion carried.
