BMLM20091027BIG MUSKEGO LAKE/BASS BAY PROTECTION & Approved 1/26/2010 REHABILITATION DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MINUTES OF QUARTERLY MEETING HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2009 Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:28 p.m. Also present were Commissioners Fiedler, Schaumberg, Schneider, Werner, Borgman, Harenda, and Snead, Deputy Commissioners Pilak, Burmeister, and Paulson, and Deputy Clerk Blenski. Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The clerk stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Snead moved for approval of the June 23, 2009 and July 28, 2009 minutes. Commissioner Werner seconded; motion carried. VOUCHER APPROVAL Commissioner Fiedler moved for approval of voucher in the amount of $4,610 for milfoil treatment. Commissioner Borgman seconded. Mr. Burmeister stated the invoice was for a second treatment application recommended by Tom Zagar. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Election of Secretary and Treasurer Commissioner Borgman moved to elect the Clerk -Treasurer as Secretary and the Finance Director as Treasurer for the Big Muskego Lake/Bass Bay Protection and Rehabilitation District. Commissioner Fiedler seconded; motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW Deputy Commissioner Pilak reported that he would meet with Commissioner Werner to obtain information regarding potential weed harvesting as an alternative to spraying. It may be cost prohibitive, but the District is interested in exploring the option. Deputy Commissioner Burmeister gave a brief update on the following: The Bog Barrier Project - The Deputy Commissioners along with Tom Zagar have installed barriers at the Durham ramp and the channel at the dam. They will be removed for the winter months. • The Ducks Unlimited Project - The restoration project on the southwest corner of the lake is nearly completed. • Water level is up; weeds are down.
