MINUTES OF QUARTERLY MEETING HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2007
Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:23 p.m. Also present were Commissioners
Fiedler, Schaefer, Melcher, Werner, Borgman, Pavelko and Snead, Deputy Commissioner Kies,
City Administrator Sheiffer, and Clerk -Treasurer Moyer. Those present recited the Pledge of
Allegiance.
The Clerk -Treasurer stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Werner moved for approval of the June 26, 2007 minutes. Commissioner
Borgman seconded; motion carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Commissioner Fiedler moved to approve voucher in the amount of $4,696.60 payable to
Marine Biochemists for milfoil treatment. Commissioner Melcher seconded; motion
carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Deputy Commissioner's Update - Current Condition of Lake/Bay: water levels, plant
growth, fish, and wildlife and Status of Land Acquisition by the DNR
Deputy Commissioner Kies reported the following:
❑ Water levels are high.
❑ Marine Biochemist treatment was very modest; another touch up treatment was done two
weeks ago. Treatments have been well under the $15,000 budget. The touch up treatment
was experimental. It will be determined in spring if the treatment was successful.
❑ Fish and wildlife are thriving.
❑ Eagles and osprey will likely leave the area when the lake freezes.
❑ No new activity regarding land acquisitions. The program is ongoing.
NEW BUSINESS
Commissioner Snead moved to elect the Clerk -Treasurer as the Board's secretary and
Finance Department Supervisor as the Board's treasurer. Commissioner Borgman
seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Snead moved to adjourn at 7:28 p.m. Commissioner Fiedler seconded;
motion carried.
