COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO
RESOLUTION #195-2006
RECOGNITION OF 36 YEARS OF SERVICE
JOHN R. JOHNSON
WHEREAS, JOHN JOHNSON, Chief of Police, started his employment as a patrol officer with the City
of Muskego Police Department on February 16, 1970; and
WHEREAS, JOHN JOHNSON received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Marquette University; and
WHEREAS, JOHN, received a Life Saving Commendation on June 2], 1972 for saving the life of a six
week old boy; and
WHEREAS, JOHN JOHNSON was promoted to the position of Sergeant on April 22, 1974 and became
SW AT Team Leader in 1976; and
WHEREAS. JOHN received a Commendation For Leadership for an incident on Apri] 30, 1977; and
WHEREAS, On June ]6,1978, .JOHN graduated from the 113th Session of the FBI National Academy;
and
WHEREAS, JOHN, has been a Firearms Instructor at Waukesha County Technical College for the past
26 years: and
WHEREAS, JOHN JOHNSON, was promoted to Lieutenant on December] 2, ] 98]; and
WHEREAS, JOHN JOHNSON was appointed to the position of Chief of Police on May 15, 1985; and
WHEREAS, JOHN JOHNSON has served the City of Muskego for over 36 years with distinction,
always being aware of his obligations to the citizens, as well as to the Mayor and A]dermen, exemplifying
the meaning of a dedicated and loyal employee. As the Chief of Police for the past 21 years, he has been
a true leader in every sense of the word; and
WHEREAS, JOHN has earned the respect oflaw enforcement personnel throughout the State of
Wisconsin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ]T RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Muskego does
hereby recognize, appreciate, and publicly thank JOHN R. JOHNSON for his faithful dedication and
exemplary service to the City of Muskego and for the tine example he has set as a public servant. The
City wishes him a happy and healthy retirement.
