CCR2002068COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEG0 RESOLUTION #68-2002 GRANTING PLACEMENT OF WATER SKI JUMP ON BED OF LITTLE MUSKEG0 LAKE AND PLACEMENT OF PIER AT IDLE ISLE Water Bugs Ski Team WHEREAS, The Water Bugs Ski Team has requested permission to place a water ski jump on the bed of Little Muskego Lake; and WHEREAS, It is necessary for the Team to receive DNR approval as well as City approval; and WHEREAS, Said water ski jump is to be located adjacent to Paul DeAngelis Island and in front of Idle Isle Beach during show dates; and WHEREAS, The Water Bugs also requested permission to place a pier at Idle Isle, which was approved by the Parks 8 Recreation Board; and WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has recommended approval of the placement of the water ski jump and the pier NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby grant permission to the Water Bugs Ski Team to place a water ski jump adjacent to Paul DeAngelis Island and in front of Idle Isle Beach during show dates, subject to approval by the DNR, and the condition that the ski jump be lighted at night. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That approval is hereby given for the placement of a pier at Idle Isle subject to the pier being equipped with reflectors, and located across from Jaycee Island as in previous years. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc.. and the City of Muskego shall enter into agreements absolving the City of Muskego from all liability as per the attached agreements relating to the pier and the ski jump. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That this approval is subject to receipt of a certificate of insurance naming the City of Muskego as coinsured. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer are hereby authorized to sign the attached agreements with the placement of the water ski jump subject to review by the Water Patrol. The Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc., is the owner of a ski jump at Idle Isle Park, W182 S6666 Hardtke Drive, and DeAngelis Island, W187 57160 Gold Drive. The Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc., is responsible for putting in and taking out the said ski jump. The owner will provide a white light on the ramp from dusk to dawn and visible for 1 mile. It is agreed that the Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc., is holding the City of Muskego free and harmless from any and all liability and damages that might be incurred by persons using the ski jump. It is further agreed that all maintenance and upkeep of said jump will be the sole responsibility of the Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc. It is further agreed that any additional approval of any governmental agency for putting in the ski jump is the responsibility of the Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc. The Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Muskego has approved the pier to be placed at the Park between the dates of May 4 through September 22. The Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc. is responsible for the putting in and taking out ofthe said pier. The owners will allow the City and the public to use this pier at all times that it is not scheduled for exclusive use ofthe Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc. The Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc. will make four signs, with prior approval of the Parks & Recreation Director. Two signs will indicate that the swimming area will be closed ten minutes prior to and throughout the practicelshow times as posted on the back of the chair tower and at the entrance of the park. The swimming area will be open to public ten minutes after show or practice time unless in the case of a cancelled show or practice. The other two signs will times posted at the pier and at the entrance of the park.
