APPROVAL OF REVISED JOB DESCRIPTION, PAY GRADE AND SALARY RANGE
(Full-Time Maintenance Position)
WHEREAS, The Mayor has requested that the job description, pay grade and salary
range for the Full-Time Maintenance position be reviewed; and
WHEREAS, Said position was created at a G3 pay grade with a total of 166 points; and
WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has reviewed the position and recommends
approval of the revised job description, as attached, and further recommends the
position be reclassified to a G6 pay grade with the following points and 2000 salary
range:
KN 411p (142), PR 4Ce (46), AR D113b (61), and WC C2s (18) for a total of 267 points
Minimum MidDoint
$14.18 $16.68
Maximum
$19.18
WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has determined that the position would be placed
at 90% of the new midpoint and the employee receive retroactive pay from the date of
hire, January 17, 2000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby approve
the revised job description, pay grade and salary range for the Full-Time Maintenance
Position as outlined above.

Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to coordinate maintenance for City owned facilities, perform general building
maintenance and repair tasks for City owned facilities and physical plant. The work is performed under the
direction of the Otfice of the Mayor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Supervises and Coordinates jobs with part-time maintenance staff
Paints and repairs walls. Remodels rooms, including plastering, dry wall, carpentry, and masonry work.
Maintains perimeter lights, transformer, and electrical systems. Traces causes of electrical problems.
Repairs pumps, motors, heating, and cooling equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment according to established
maintenance schedule
Schedule and perform regular inspections for safety of operation
Performs minimum plumbing repairs.
Inspects fire alarms, water softeners, hand rails, and roof on a periodic basis.
Removes snow and maintains grounds using snow blower, hand tools, and other equipment
Performs custodial duties.
Design, assembles, installs. repairs, construas and moves office equipment. shelving, cabinets and furniture.
Orders supplies, materials, replacement pans, and services Picks up supplies, parts, and materials.

Picks up and distributes mail
Maintains hazardous materials communication program for the City, as well as fire alarm and miscellaneous
apparatus.
Set up and take down meeting rooms after meetings.
Enforces and performs safety check and security of buildings and grounds
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
High school diploma or equivalent, vocationaYtechnical training in building maintenance or trades, three to five
years maintenance experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent
knowledge, skills, and abilities. A valid Wisconsin motor vehicle operator’s license required.

Ability to analyze and categorize data and information in order to determine the relationship of the data with

Physical Requirements
Ability to operate equipment and machinery with some requiring complex and rapid adjustments, such as motor
vehicle, pumps, various control mechanisms for HVAC systems, mechanic’s tools, carpenter’s tools, plumbing
tools, circuit testers, various power tools, painting equipment, floor cleaning equipment, saws and drills.
Ability lo coordinate eyes, hands, feet and limbs in performing slightly-skilled movements such as cutting, painting
and drilling.
