APPROVAL OF THE REGIONAL AQUIFER PERFORMANCE
SIMULATION MODELING PROGRAM PROSPECTUS
WHEREAS, at a March 17, 1997, intergovernmental meeting of local units of government and water
utilities in Southeastern Wisconsin, it was requested that the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning
regional groundwater flow simulation model for Southeastern Wisconsin;
Commission assist the local units of government in the preparation of a prospectus for developing a new
WHEREAS, the requested prospectus, as approved by a Technical Advisory Committee composed of
groundwater users and technical experts, recommends that a regional aquifer modeling program be
undertaken for Southeastern Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, the development of a regional aquifer modeling program for the Southeastern Wisconsin
area is important to the continued sound management of groundwater resources; and
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Committee has received and reviewed the Reaional Aquifer
Performance Simulation Modelinq Proqram Prosoectus; and
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Committee generally concurs in the recommendation set forth in the
prospectus to conduct the desired groundwater model development and prepare a regional groundwater
aquifer simulation model for the Southeastern Wisconsin Region.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation
of the Public Utilities Committee, does hereby approve the Reaional Aquifer Performance Simulation
Planning Commission, the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey, and the U.S. Geological
Survey, and bearing the date October 1998.
BE IT FURTHER HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City of Muskego commits to funding its fair share of
the cost of conducting the study as set forth in Table 5 on pages 20 and 30 of the aforereferenced
prospectus, and is willing and able to enter into an intergovernmental agreement toward that end which
meets with the City’s approval and that said agreement shall provide in part that the cost to the City shall
not exceed $4,173.00 per year for three (3) consecutive years commencing with the year 1999.
BE IT FURTHER HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Clerk-Treasurer transmit a certified copy Of this
resolution to the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.
