CCR1998105COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEG0 RESOLUTION #105-98 RESOLUTION TO CONTINUE PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, In 1996 the City entered into a Cooperation Agreement with Waukesha County to participate in the Community Development Block Grant program (CDBG); and WHEREAS, Said Cooperation Agreement concludes as of May 31, 1999 and will automatically renew for the period June 1, 1999 through May 31, 2002 unless Waukesha County and HUD receives written notification that the City has decided to terminate the Agreement and end its participation; and WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has approved the City's continued participation in the Community Development Block Grant program for the period June 1, 1999 through May 31,2002. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby choose to continue to participate in the Community Development Block Grant program with Waukesha County for the period June 1, 1999 through May 31, 2002. The US. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HLrD) requires thls office to provide you with notice of the automatic renewal of your cooperation a= Oretnent with Waukesha County for the period born 1999 rhrough 2002. In accordance with CPD Notice 98-05 you are hereby notiEed that your Cooperation Agreement which is currently concluding as of May 31. 1999 will automatically renew for the period of June 1, 1999 through May 31,2002, unless Waukesha County and HUD receives writing a notice of your municipality's decision to terminate the agreement and ends its participation in the CDBG and HOME programs on or before June 5, 1998. Given the benefits that all participating communities have avahble to it under these programs. I m confident that your municipality will continue in these programs. Should you choose to remain as a participant in the Waukesha "Urban County" CDBG program, you will be ineligible to apply for grants under the HLm administered Small Cities or State CDBG program wide a part of the Urban County. If you choose to remain with the Urban County, you are also a participant in the HOME program though the Tri-County Consortium and you may only participate in the HOME program thorough the Urban County. If you choose to be excluded, you must not@ both Waukesha County and HLiD of your community election to be excluded by June 5, 1998. I highly recommend your continued support and participation in these prosrams.
