CCR1997160Corrected COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEG0 RESOLUTION #160-97 RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT - DOMONIC R. D'ACQUISTO WHEREAS, Domonic R. D'Acquisto in April of 1994 ran for the office of 5th District Alderman for the City of Muskego and fully disclosed his felony conviction, and WHEREAS, Domonic R. D'Acquisto ran in the April 1994 election unopposed, and was elected to that office, and WHEREAS, Domonic R. D'Acquisto took this office, after being qualified by the Common Council, before the Pardon he had applied for had been acted upon for a felony he had been convicted of in 1981, and WHEREAS, in April of 1996, Domonic R. D'Acquisto ran an opposed campaign to regain his seat as 5th District Alderman and was elected to that position by a large margin to again represent the said District, and WHEREAS, in the past three and one-half years Dominic D'Acquisto has served his District and the City of Muskego as follows: Elected Council President 1995-96 & 1996-97 Chairman of Public Works Com. 1995-96 & 1996-97 Member of Finance Com. 1995-96 & 1996-97 Member of Public Welfare Com. 1994-95 Member of Public Utilities Com. 1994-95 Member of Public Works Com. 1994-95 Appointed to Labor Negotiations 1994-95 Appointed to Cable Negotiations 1996-97 WHEREAS, Domonic R. D'Acquisto also serves his community as a Muskego Volunteer fireman and has also completed his Certification as an EMT, and WHEREAS, in November of 1996, a State Amendment was passed to the Constitution of Wisconsin that now makes it necessary for Community, and him to obtain his pardon in order to continue to serve his WHEREAS, in June of 1997, the Pardon Parole Board voted by a vote of 4 to 1 to recommend to the Governor to not grant Domonic's pardon, and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Muskego believes Domonic R. D'Acquisto paid for his crime by serving out the penalty sentence of the Court and with the loss of his job as a Milwaukee Police Officer, and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Muskego believes that his perfect record prior to 1981 and his perfect record for the last 16 years should be considered. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Muskego feel compelled to ask Governor Tommy Thompson NOT to take the recommendation of the Parole Board and to grant Domonic R.
