FLOYD RONALD GIFFORD - MUSKEG0 POLICE DEPARmNT
RECOGNITION OF 25 YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, FLOYD RONALJJ GIFFORD, AKA RON GIFFORD, began working as a
patrol officer for the City of Muskego Police Department on February 17,
1969; and
WHEREAS, on December 1, 1974, RON was promoted to Juvenile Officer
working closely with the High School on juvenile matters and on June 5,
1978, RON was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the early shift as
Team Leader; and
WHEREAS, on January 1, 1985, RON was promoted to Lieutenant and
Department; and
assumed the responsibilities for the Services Division of the
WHEREAS, RON assumed operational responsibility of the City's first
multi-functional computer system with the purchase of the IBM36 in
1985 without having had any prior computer training; and
WHEREAS, RON developed our own CAD mapping system which is used
extensively by the Fire, Rescue and Police emergency response
personnel to locate homes and businesses by physical location, not by
address. This system is one of a kind and to this day most other
communities lack this type CAD system; and
WHEREAS, RON received an Associate Degree in Police Science on August 1,
1973 and graduated from the 135th Session of the FBI National Academy in
Quantico, Virginia on December 16, 1983; and
WHEREAS, RON received many commendations from citizens during his time
as a patrol officer and sergeant; and
WHEREAS, RON is a dedicated and proud employee of the City of Muskego
Police Department as well as a lifelong resident of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the COmmOn Council of the City Of
Muskego does hereby recognize and appreciate the 25 years of dedicated
service provided by FLOYD RONALD GIFFORD to the City of Muskego.
