Committee, does hereby approve the attached Revised Code of

The purpose of this Code of Ethics is to enable public officials
and employees, both appointive and elective, to conduct themselves
in a manner that will tend to preserve public confidence in and
respect for the government of the City and to treat all citizens
with courtesy, impartiality, fairness, and equality under the law.

to receive any compensation, gift, reward, or gratuity from
any source for any matter or proceeding connected with or
related to the duties of such officer or employee, unless
otherwise provided for by law. This provision is not intended
to restrict usual social amenities or to refer to
unsubstantial advertising gifts. Compensation, gifts,
rewards, or gratuities within the meaning of this subsection
which practically cannot be returned shall immediately be
turned over to the City and be considered by it as City
property.
Confidential Information. No official or employee shall,
