AMENDMENT TO POLICY KELATING TO
THE HIRING OF RELATIVES
WHEKEAS, the Council adopted Resolution #194-84 (As Amended)
Establishing a Policy Regarding Hiring of Relatives and
Resolution #125-86 Amendment to Policy Kegarding Hiring of
Relatives, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommended that policy be
amended to add to "Administrative" - Mayor, and add to "Family" -
first cousins by direct affinity are exempt.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance
Committee, does hereby amend the policy established in Resolution
//194-84 (As Amended) and Resolution #125-86 to add to
"Administrative" - Mayor, and add to "Family" - first cousins by
direct affinity are exempt.

POLICY REGARDING HIRING OF RELATIVES
The City of Muskego, as a matter of policy, shall not employ two
or more persons of the same family in any one City Department.
Definitions
"Departments". The Departments of the City of Muskego are as
follows:
LEGISLATIVE - Mayor and Aldermen (Encompasses Every
ADMINISTRATIVE - Mayor, Clerk, Treasurer, Assessor, Building
Department)
Inspection, Maintenance, etc.
LIBRARY
PUBLIC WORKS
JUDICIAL - Includes Police Department and Court
Personnel
PARKS AND RECREATION
Boards, Commissions and Committees affiliated with
specific Departments will come under their respective
Department.
provisional or part time, excluding seasonal employees who
"Employment" shall mean any position which is full time,
receive no benefits except social security, poll workers and
elected officials.
"Employee" shall be construed as any appointed or elected person
filling a City position, whether paid or unpaid, other than
seasonal employees who receive no benefits except social
security, poll workers and elected officials.

This policy will apply to all City employees as of its effective
date.
However, in the case of two or more members of the same family
all employed as employees under covered employment as defined
within this policy as of the effective date of this policy, such
employees shall be considered grandfathered under the policy, and
the policy shall have no effect. Provided further that the
policy shall be effective to current employees in the event that
any member of the family leaves the employment of the City and
year 1984 will be considered to be grandfathered in as to
later attempts to be rehired. Part-time employees for calendar
