RESOLUTION #1-89
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE 1989-90 LABOR AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE MUSKEGO POLICE ASSOCIATION AND
THE CITY OF MUSKEGO
WHEREAS, a settlement has been reached between the negotiators
for the City of Muskego and the negotiators for the Muskego
Police Association, and
WHEREAS, the members of the Muskego Police Association have
ratified the agreement, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has reviewed the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego does hereby authorize the Mayor and Clerk to
execute the settlement agreement (as attached) between the
Muskego Police Association and the City of Muskego for the
period of January 1, 1989 through December 31, 1990.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby
authorized to sign the amended labor agreement.

ARTICLE V - WAGES
Section 1 - Bi-Weekly Rate for the affected classifications shall be
as follows:

Section 7. A one-time Gun Allowance of $200.00 for new guns will be
given, with ownership to be retained by the officers. All officers
who have already purchased new guns will be grandfathered in. Any
officer who terminates employment or is terminated while on probation,
will reimburse the City for the $200.00 Gun Allowance. Any officer
who terminates employment or is terminated during the first two to
five years will reimburse the City for one-half of the $200.00 Gun
Allowance.
ARTICLE VI1 - HEALTH h WELFARE
Life Insurance. The City shall obtain a term group life policy
covering all department personnel eligible therefore as follows:
Before age 70 $21,000
Ages 70 to 74 $14,070 Age 75 and Over $10,050
Health Insurance. Amend first sentence to read "The City agrees to
pay UD to the cost of the WHO Insurance premium for 1989. In 1990. .~ . the Employer agrees to pay up to the lowest cost insurance plan
between the amount funded by the City and the cost of the insurance
offering identical coverage. In both 1989 and 1990, any difference
plan selected shall be paid by the employee by payroll deduction."
Worker's Compensation. Any employee who is absent due to injury or
illness caused during the course of his duties and is eligible for
Worker's Compensation payments for temporary partial or temporary
total disability, shall suffer no loss of compensation during

Effective 1/1/89, the above bi-weekly rate shall be
increased by an amount equal to the difference between the mean
1988 bi-weekly rate (Detectives, Juvenile Officers, Patrol
Sergeants and Detective Sergeants) of the below listed
Departments, and the above listed salary for the top paid
officers in these classifications.
Effecive 12/31/89, the above bi-weekly rate shall be
increased by an amount equal to the difference between the mean
1989 bi-weekly rate for Patrol Officers, Detectives, Juvenile
Officers, Patrol Sergeants and Detective Sergeants of the below
listed Departments, and the above listed salary for the top paid
officers in these classifications.
Those Departments showing a monthly rate shall have their
bi-weekly rate determined through the following formula (monthly
salary x 12t 26. Those Departments listed for comparison which
do not have a settled 1989 contract by December 1, 1989, shall be
excluded from the comparison.
