BETWEEN LOCAL 2414, AFSCME (CITY HALL/LIBRARY UNIT)
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE 1988 LABOR AGREEMENT
AND THE CITY OF MUSKEGO
WHEREAS, a settlement has been reached between the negotiators
for the City of Muskego and the negotiators for the City
Hall/Library Unit of Local 2414, AFSCME, and
WHEREAS, the members of the Local have ratified the agreement,
and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommended approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance
Committee, does hereby authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute
the settlement agreement as attached between the City
Hall/Library Unit of Local 2414, AFSCME and the City of Muskego
for the period of January 1, 1988 through December 31, 1988.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby
authorized to sign the amended labor agreement for 1988.

SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT
This Agreement is made and entered into this day
of , 1988, by and between the City of Muskego
and the Muskego Area Public Employees Local 2414, affiliated with
District Council No. 40 of the American Federation of State,
County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO ( City .Mall/Library ’.
Unit).
In settlement of the contract negotiations for a succes-
sor contract to the Agreement which expired on December 31, 1987,
the parties have reached a tentative agreement to amend the prior
contract as follows:
1. Duration. One (1) year contract effective January 1,
1988, expiring December 31, 1988.
2. Wages.
a. Effective January 1, 1988, a general wage in-
crease of 3.5 percent on all rates and classi-
fications.
b. The classifications of Assessor’s Aide, Book-
keeper, Librarian 11, Utility Clerk, shall first re-
ceive an additional $0.32 per hour, before the 3.5% incr.
3. Article 17.03: Increase life insurance to the amount
of $21,000.00.
4. Article 17.04: Correct to read: “Emp1.oyees covered
by this Agreement shall be allowed to carry the fami-
ly plan to cover his/her spouse and/or dependents.“
5. a. Article 15.01: Amend to provide that sick leave
may accumulate to 130 days.
b. Article 15.10: Amend to provide that effective
for employees hired after January 1. 1988. accu-
mulated sick leave shall have a maximum payout of
90 days in the event of termination, except for
proper cause.

Article 4.01: Amend to provide for an increase in
contribution to $0.6L per hour and to provide for the
city to pay the cost of administration.
Article 16.05: Amend to read "Vacation allowance
shall be taken during the vacation year [ defined as
anniversary date to anniversary date), or it shall be
lost.
Add provision to Appendix on Part-time Employee Sala-
ry Progression ds agreed by the parties as follows:
Part-time employees shall progress along the salary
schedule as follows; For employees regularly assign-
ed to 20 to 30 hours a week, they shall reach the 6
month step after 9 months of employment and the 18
month step after 24 months of employment. Employees
regularly assigned to more than 30 hours per week
shall progress pursuant to the full-time schedule.
All other provisions of the prior agreement to be re-
tained except as amended herein.
