APPROVAL OF 1987 LABOR AGREEMENT

WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommended that the
settlement of the 1987 labor agreement between the City of
Muskego and Local #2414 (City Hall/Library Unit) be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance
Committee, does hereby approve the proposed 1987 labor
agreement between the- City and Locai #2414 (City Hall/Library
Unit) as attached.

SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT
(CITY HALL AND LIBRARY UNIT)
THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this day of
, 1987, by and between the CITY OF MUSKEGO
and the MUSKEGO AREA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES LOCAL 2414, affiliated with
DISTRICT COUNCIL NO. 40 of the AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE,
COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES, AFL-CIO (City Hall and Library
Unit).
In settlement of the contract negotiations for a succes-
sor contract to the agreement which expired on December 31, 1986.
the parties have reached a tentative agreement to amend the prior
contract as follows:
1. Duration. One year contract effective January 1, 1987, ex-
piring December 31, 1987.
2. Wages.
a. Effective January 1, 1987, a general wage increase of
four percent (4%) on all rates and classifications.
b. Effective January 1, 1987, as a result of the settlement
of the insurance issue, a one-half percent ($7) increase
classifications will be raised One Hundred Dollars
on all rates and classifications and on July 1, 1987, all
($lOO.OO) on ar, annual basis (five cents [$.Os1 per
hour ) .

3. The parties agree that in interpreting the eligiblity for
fringe benefits for part-time employees, that irrespective of
past agreements or discussions concerning the interpretation
of this Article, the parties agree that on a prospective ba-
sis only, and with the exception of Lollie Bonnell, employees
who become covered by this agreement shall have credit for
all past part-time service in determining benefit eligibil-
ity. Such credit shall be determined by crediting the actual
number of hours worked towards benefit eligibility. It is
understood and agree that all future hirees shall be handled
in a similar fashion.
4. The parties agree to replace all gender designations with the
generic terms "he/she" or "employee".
5. The parties agree to amend 21.03 to read as follows:
"21.03. A minimum of five (5) consecutive
days notice will be allowed to permit interested

6. The parties agree to amend the insurance language contained
in Article XVII, Section 17.02, to read as follows:
"17.02. The Employer agrees to offer HMO
