WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Muskego,
Wisconsin, held a public hearing at the Muskego City Hall at 7:OO
P.M. on the 30th day of September, 1986, for the purpose of
hearing all interested persons concerning the preliminary
capacity special assessments for providing the availability of
resolution and report of the City Engineer on the proposed water

STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
The "Standard Specifications for Sewer and Water
Construction in Wisconsin", latest edition, shall be used in
the construction of the sanitary sewer, watermain and
appurtenances (herein known as the "Utility") as covered by

The Contractor shall contact all utility companies prior to
the commencement of construction and shall arrange to have

1.11 DUST CONTROL
The Contractor shall provide effective dust control which is

1.12 EROSION CONTROL
The Contractor shall provide erosion control measures, as
necessary, to control discharge of sediment laden water to
surface waters. Overland discharge of water from dewatering
operations shall not be allowed. Such water shall be piped
directly to the surface water or shall be directed to
sedimentation basins prior to discharge to surface waters.
All costs incurred shall be the Contractor's responsibility.
1.13 DRAWING ERRORS
Whenever the Contractor is in doubt as to the intent of the

exists, he shall notify the Engineer before proceeding with

PIPE MATERIAL
All pipe used for water main in this project shall be ductile
iron, AWWA thickness Class 52 or Class 150 PVC pressure pipe.
The PVC pipe shall meet the requirements of AWWA C900, have an
SDR of 18 or less, and shall have integral bell and spigot
joints with an elastomeric seal.
The ductile iron pipe shall have a cement lining and shall be
equal to Clow Super Bell-Tite gasket joint pipe with Style
C-lead tipped rubber gaskets. Standard mechanical joint cast
iron fittings as per ASA A21.11 shall be used. The contractor
shall furnish and install 2 bronze serrated wedges in each
joint of water main.
All ductile iron water main and services in the Project shall
be wrapped in Polyethylene film material. All requirements in
the "Standard Specifications" referring to the polyethylene
film envelope or wrap for the water main and services shall
apply to this project. The costs involved to wrap the entire
water main and services shall be included in the respective
bid item given in the proposal form.
