ESTABLISHING A POLICY REGARDING HIRING OF RELATIVES
(As Amended)
BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Muskego,
upon the recommendation of the Rules, Laws and Ordinance
Committee, does hereby establish the following policy regarding
persons of the same family being employed in any one City
Department in the City of Muskego:
POLICY REGARDING HIRING OF RELATIVES
The City of Muskego, as a matter of policy, shall not employ two
or more persons of the same family in any one City Department.
Definitions
I1 Departments". The Departments of the City of Muskego are as
follows:
LEGISLATIVE - Mayor and Aldermen (Encompasses Every
ADMINISTRATIVE - Clerk, Treasurer, Assessor, Building

JUDICIAL - Includes Police Department and Court Personnel

However, in the case of two or more members of the same family
all employed as employees under covered employment as defined
within this policy as of the effective date of this policy, such
employees shall be considered grandfathered under the policy, and
the policy shall have no effect. Provided further that the
policy shall be effective to current employees in the event that
any m [ember of the family 1 eaves the employment of the City a

year 1984 will be considered to be grandfathered in as to
rehiring for 1985. In the event that employees working in
of the same family, but later become members of the same family,
covered employment as defined in this policy, who are not members

relationship, have thirty (30) days in which to decide for
themselves which of them shall leave the City's employment in
order that the policy may be complied with. In the event of the
