CCR1975063RESOLUTION #63-75
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING REPORT OF PUBLIC
WORKS COMMIlTEE REGARDING KURT2
WHEREAS , on the 14th day of November, 1972, the Common Council
adopted Resolution #214-72, entitled, Authorizing Report on
Petition to Open Kurtze Lane as a public street, and
WHEREAS, the Common Council directed the Board of Public Works
to prepare a report on said petition, and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Committee wishes to determine the
concensus of opinion of the Comon Council prior to expending
any further money on the project,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Public Works Committee does
hereby advise the Comon Council of the following:
(1) The petition to the Conrmon Council and received on
the 24th of October, 1972, is determined to be suffi-
ciently signed as required by statute.
(2) A description of each lot or parcel of land proposed
to be taken for the proposed street as well as a plat
of proposed street has been reviewed by the Public
Works and is made a part of this resolution by reference. I
(3) It would be the intent of the Public Works Committee to
provide a 60' right-of-way for Kurtze Lane built to city
standards with the exception that rather than asphalt a
sealcoat surface would be provided.
(4) Because of the large assessment which would be required,
it would be the intent of the Public Works Committee to
recommend that the larger assessments be deferred for up 4
to ten (10) years or until sewers became available and
made the land usable for development. The deferred
assessment would therefore be financed by the city. 9
(5) The Public Works Committee is now ready to retain the
necessary appraisers and begin negotiations for acquiring
the needed property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Comon Council accepts the report
of the Public Works Committee and directs them to continue with
the project as ized in Resolution #214-72.
DATED THIS DAY OF # 197 5.
