REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS FOR ROAD
CONSTRUCTION IN THE CITY OF MUSKEGO
e WHEREAS the City of Muskego has a Subdivision Control Ordinance
wherein it is provided that the Construction Standards of all streets
shall conform to the current standards as established by the City
Engineer and shall be subject to the approval of the City Engineer
before acceptance, and
WHEREAS the City Engineer has made such determination which is on
file with the Clerk for the City of Muskego,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Construction Requirements
and Standards for road construction in the City of Muskego shall be
as recommended by the City Engineer, to wit: a 1. It shall be required that profiles of roads to be constructed
and accepted, be submitted to the City Engineers for approval, prior
to proceeding with any road grading operations.
2. The length and size of all culverts as well as culvert end-
walls shall be determined by the subdividers and approved by the City
Engineer.
3. All roads shall comply to the minimum widths of right-of-way
and roadway (roadbed or paved width) as specified in Section 5B (5)
of the Ordinance Regulating the Division and Platting of Land.
4. The center of the roadbed shall be on the centerline of
the land dedicated for road purposes. The grade of said roadbed
shall conform to the approved profiles. On dead end roads a turn-
around of 120' diameter shall be provided and a surfaced width of
80' in diameter. e 5. Street signs, culvert posts and guard rails, as required by
the City, shall be obtained and placed by the City, the cost which
shall be paid by the subdivider.
6. Top soil, mucky soil, peat and unstable inaterial shall be
removed below the subgrade of roads and replaced with suitable, sound
fill materials.
7. Roads shall be surfaced with six (6) inches of compacted
1-112'' crushed gravel for the first application, the second application
to be 6" of compacted 314" crushed gravel both conforming to W.S.H.C. a specifications. If additional gravel is required in the judgment
of the City Engineers, same shall be furnished and applied to the
satisfaction of the City before acceptance at no cost to the City.

8. The width of gravel lurface, cul-de-sac construction,
Required Improvements as required by the Ordinance Regulating the
Division and Platting of Lands shall be complied with. e 9. Side slopes shall be covered with top soil, prepared,
seeded or sodded, fertilized, watered and maintained prior to
acceptance by the City in a manner acceptable to the Board of
Public Works.
10. When grading operations are completed on any City road
and prior to the placement of any gravel, the City shall be notified
seven days in advance to inspect the site and determine the type
of treatment required to maintain slopes.
11. No roads will be accepted between November 1st and
