RESOLUTION #173-2009
RECOGNITION OF 25 YEARS OF SERVICE
GARY J. MROTEK – MUSKEGO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Whereas, on November 26, 1984 Gary J. Mrotek began his career with the City of
Muskego Police Department as a police officer; and
Whereas, Gary Mrotek attended and graduated from the WCTC Police Recruit
Academy in October of 1984 and was certified as a police officer in the State of
Wisconsin; and
Whereas, on August 11, 1985, Officer Mrotek rendered assistance to an Escanaba,
Michigan police officer who was being attacked by a chimpanzee, very likely saving the
life of that officer while risking his own, earning a place on the merit board for
“Exceptional Public Service”; and
Whereas, August, 1992, Officer Mrotek was the first officer assigned as a police school
liaison officer serving at both Bay Lane Middle School and Muskego High School; and
Whereas, ten years later Officer Mrotek was assigned as the first community resource
officer serving in that position from September 2, 2002 to October 10, 2004; and
Whereas, during Officer Gary Mrotek’s career he has served as a field training officer,
court officer, officer-in-charge, member of SWAT and evidence technician.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby recognize and appreciate the 25 years of dedicated service
provided by Officer Gary Mrotek to the citizens of the City of Muskego.
