COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO
RESOLUTION #019-2009
RESOLUTION FOR FEDERAL STIMULUS FUNDS PROJECTS
WHEREAS, Federal Stimulus Funds will be allocated to local units of government by the
Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) for qualifying projects; and
WHEREAS, The City has identified the following projects that may qualify for funding under
the stimulus program:
1. Reconstruction (by pulverization and overlay) of Hillendale Drive from College
Avenue to Janesville Road (approximately 2.9 miles)
2. Construction of an off road recreational trail on the west side of Racine Avenue,
from the south end of the high school to the existing recreational trail just south
of Janesville Road (approximately 1.25 miles)
WHEREAS, The program requires that all Plans, Specifications and Estimates be completed
no later than March 17; and
WHEREAS, In order to be able to accept Federal funding should Muskego’s projects be
selected, the City must hire engineering consultants to begin survey work and then complete
the full design for both projects; and
WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has reviewed the proposed projects and has
recommended that the City proceed to hire consultants so the necessary engineering work can
be completed should the City’s projects be selected for federal funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego,
upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby authorize the Mayor to
execute the necessary documentation to hire consultants to perform engineering services as
identified above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That money for the engineering services will be taken from the
2009 Road Improvement Program funds and park dedication funds.
