ORDINANCE #1208
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2.09 (3), OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF MUSKEGO
(Committee of the Whole)
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MUSKEGO, WAUKESHA COUNTY,
WISCONSIN, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 2, section 2.09 (3), ofthe Municipal Code ofthe City of Muskego is
hereby amended to read as follows:
2.09 COMMITTEES
(3) Committee of the Whole. The Mayor may declare the entire Council a Committee of the
Whole for the purpose of studying a specific topic(s) that due to its complexity cannot
reasonably be addressed through the use of regular Standing Committees (Public Works, Public
Utilities and Finance Committee) and regular Common Council meetings. The Mayor shall
serve as Chairperson of Committee of the Whole meetings. Committee of the Whole meetings
shall be called not more than once every other month on a regularly scheduled date and time and
shall be limited to at most three (3) topics that appear as publicly noticed agenda items. A
minimum of five (5) Common Council members shall be necessary for a Committee of the
Whole meeting (not including the Mayor). Common Council members shall place items on the
Committee of the Whole agenda by submitting a written request to the Mayor sponsored by two
Council members stating the topic to be placed on the next regular Committee of the Whole
agenda.
Section 2: The several sections of this ordinance are declared to be severable. If any section or
portion thereof shall be declared by a decision of a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid,
unlawful, or unenforceable, such decision shall apply only to the specific section or portion
thereof directly specified in the decision, and not affect the validity of all other provisions,
sections, or portions thereof of the Ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect. Any
other ordinance whose terms are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby
repealed as to those terms that conflict.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
publication.
