ORD1993780COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO ORDINANCE #780 AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE CHAPTER 13, SECTION 13.026 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF MUSKEGO REGARDING THE KEEPING OF POTBELLIED PIGS THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MUSKEGO, WISCONSIN, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : Code of the City of Muskego, Wisconsin, is hereby created to read SECTION 1: Chapter 13, Section 13.026 of the Municipal as follows : 13.026 POTBELLIED PIGS (1) more than 9 weeks of age on January 1 of any year, License required. Every owner of a potbellied pig or 9 weeks of age within the licensed year, shall annually, or within 30 days from the date such potbellied pig becomes 9 weeks of age, at the time and in the manner provided by law for the payment of personal property taxes, pay to the treasurer, a potbellied pig license fee and obtain a license therefore. Prior to the issuance of the license the owner shall present evidence that the potbellied pig pig is considered to be unlicensed if a valid is currently immunized against rabies. J Ordinance #780 8’ Noisy Pigs Prohibited. No person shall keep a potbellied pig which disturbs the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. Animal Control. The appropriate City officers shall apprehend and confine potbellied pigs in violation of this Ordinance. The officer may commence action in the name of the City for the collection of forfeitures for violation of this Ordinance. Impounding of Potbellied Pigs. The appropriate officer shall apprehend and confine in the animal shelter any potbellied pig found in violation of this Ordinance. Disposition of Unclaimed Potbellied Pigs. The keeper of the animal shelter shall keep all potbellied pigs apprehended hereunder for 7 days and time, the potbellied pig may be sold or destroyed in if any potbellied pig is not claimed within such a humane manner. Payment of Costs. The owner of a potbellied pig an apprehension fee set by the Common Council and an impounded may reclaim the animal upon the payment of day that the animal is impounded. In addition additional fee set by the Common Council for each or other medical treatment of the potbellied pig thereto, any expenses for inoculation, destruction shall be paid by the owner of the animal. Number of Potbellied Pigs Limited. Not more than 2 potbellied pigs over the age of 9 weeks shall be kept or maintained in any area of the City in which of each other. The owner or tenant of the premises 2 or more residences are occupied within 1,000 feet upon which a violation of this section occurs shall be notified thereof and allowed 10 days to conform to this section. The provisions of this section shall not apply after one year from date of passage and publication of this Ordinance. Ordinance are declared to be severable. If any section or portion SECTION 2: Severability.
