ChartOrd20 AMENDED CITY OF MUSKEGO CHARTER ORDINANCE #20 A CHARTER ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE CLERK-TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF MUSKEGO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MUSKEGO, WISCONSIN DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City of Muskego Charter Ordinance #17 is hereby repealed and recreated to read as follows: SECTION 2: The City of Muskego, pursuant to §62.09(3)(b) and §66.0101, Wisconsin Statutes, hereby elects not to be governed by those provisions of §62.09(3)(b), Wisconsin Statutes, which are in conflict with this Charter Ordinance and Charter Ordinances #11, #14 and #15 are hereby amended, in part, in that the office of the Clerk-Treasurer shall be appointive and of indefinite term. SECTION 3: The office of Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Muskego is to be performed by the person appointed as Clerk-Treasurer by the Mayor subject to confirmation by the Common Council as provided in §62.09(3)(b)2 and Chapter 1.04 of the Muskego Municipal Code, commencing on the effective date of this Charter Ordinance. SECTION 4: The appointed Clerk-Treasurer may be removed by the Common Council under the procedure herein, and thereby serves at the pleasure of the Council. The appointed Clerk-Treasurer shall serve an indefinite term, subject to removal by the Common Council by the affirmative votes of three-fourths of all members thereof, in accord with §17.12(1)(c) and (d), Wisconsin Statutes. SECTION 5: Any charter provision or any previously enacted ordinance or charter ordinance inconsistent or in conflict herewith is hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6: This charter ordinance shall take effect sixty (60) days after its passage and publication subject to the provisions of §66.0101, Wisconsin Statutes.
