Unapproved CITY OF MUSKEGO COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES December 12, 2017 6:30 PM City Hall, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue CALL TO ORDER Mayor Chiaverotti called the meeting to order at 6:54 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Aldermen W olfe, Hammel, Borgman, Kapusta, Engelhardt, Kubacki and Madden. Also present: City Attorney Warchol, Public Works and Development Director Kroeger and Deputy Clerk Blenski. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE The Deputy Clerk stated that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meeting law. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - October 10, 2017 Alderman Wolfe made a motion to approve. Alderman Hammel seconded; motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Facilities Update - City Hall, Department of Public Works and Police Department Director Kroeger was present to provide an update on the City facilities projects. City Hall  Windows have been installed. The heat is on and the building is locked.  Some of the parking lot is done. The new area will be used for parking once work begins on the existing City Hall building for the Police Department project.  As of now, the move to the new facility is planned for the week of July 4, 2018.  The Lions Club will donate a bench (similar to the ones on Janesville Road).  The local Rotary Club will donate seven trees.  The City is working on a MMSD Green Infrastructure Credit, currently at $110,000. This is due to the use of porous pavers. Department of Public Works (Existing Building and New Acquisition)  Four bids were received and opened on December 4.  The bids are being thoroughly reviewed. Bid amounts are very close.  Award of bid is anticipated to take place in January, 2018. Work is to begin in January with completion expected to be in June of 2018. Police Department  75% of the plans are done. Project to be bid in January, 2018.  Work to start in March or April.  Anticipated completion is May to June, 2019. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW Alderman Hammel requested that discussion regarding holiday decorations on Janesville Road be placed on a future agenda. Mayor Chiaverotti stated staff will have to research cost. This should be discussed when the 2019 budget is reviewed.
