NEW BUSINESS
1.) Update on Facilities Agreements with MNSD
Mayor Chiaverotti gave an overview of the 3 Facility Agreements with MNSD, one has expired.
The District expressed that they wanted to make some changes to their Facility Use Policies
and did not want to renew. Mayor recommended that meetings were set-up to discuss the
agreements and the changes needed. Under the agreement that has expired the City was
required to maintain Bay Lane and Mill Valley fields and 50% of maintenance of the tennis
courts at the High School. Until a new agreement was reached the City agreed to continue
these services.
The School District has changed their Facility Use Policy and submitted their construction
plans for their Facility Projects. 2 of the 3 fields at Mill Valley will be eliminated as part of the
construction. The District will maintain all athletic fields and courts on District property. The
City will no longer administer Private Club bookings for School District properties, clubs will
book directly with the School District.
The School District and the City have agreed that City Attorney Warchol will draft a termination
for the other 2 agreements.
These changes will make for a much clearer process between the School District, Private
Clubs, and the City Recreation programs. And will ensure recreation immunity for the City.
