CLOSED SESSION 1.) Please take notice that following Approval of Minutes, the Committee of the Whole will convene, upon passage of the proper motion, into closed session pursuant to: Wis. Stats. §19.85(1)(e) Deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session, more specifically the acquisition of an existing property for an Expansion of the City Garage. Action may be taken in closed session. The Committee of the Whole will then reconvene into open session to continue with agenda items. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW ADJOURNMENT Possible reconvening of the Committee of the Whole immediately following Common Council Meeting of the same date to continue work on agenda items NOTICE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT MEMBERS OF AND POSSIBLY A QUORUM OF MEMBERS OF OTHER GOVERNMENTAL BODIES OF THE MUNICIPALITY MAY BE IN ATTENDANCE AT THE ABOVE-STATED MEETING TO GATHER INFORMATION; NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN BY ANY GOVERNMENTAL BODY AT THE ABOVE-STATED MEETING OTHER THAN THE GOVERNMENTAL BODY SPECIFICALLY REFERRED TO ABOVE IN THIS NOTICE. Unapproved CITY OF MUSKEGO COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES December 8, 2015 6:15 PM City Hall, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue CALL TO ORDER Mayor Chiaverotti called meeting to order at 6:32 pm. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Present: Ald. Wolfe, Hammel, Borgman, Engelhardt, Kubacki and Mayor Chiaverotti. Also Present: Director Mueller, Director Simpson, Director Muenkel and John Sabinash. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE Director Mueller stated the meeting was properly noticed. APPROVAL OF AGENDA APPROVAL OF MINUTES - November 24, 2015 Alderman Wolfe motioned to approve November 24, 2015 minutes. Alderman Engelhardt seconded. NEW BUSINESS 1.) Facilities Update John Sabinash of Zimmerman Architectural recapped the updates for PD and City Hall projects.  Square footage for new City Hall 25,953  Additional parking spaces added  5 meeting rooms of various sizes  Larger courtyard allows for more day light, increases worker productivity.  Reviewed floor plan of the individual departments.  Volume of ceiling height in Council Chambers, lobby and main entrance. Alderman Wolfe asked for confirmation of the larger courtyard and large meeting room ability to sub-divide. Alderman Kubacki asked if there will be immediate access for visitor information in the main entrance area. John Sabinash added that there will possibly be a kiosk available in the main entrance area for visitors. John Sabinash discussed the removal of the Recreation meeting room. Mayor Chiaverotti added that other opportunities with the Historical Society and School District have been investigated. There are other space options for Recreation. John Sabinash and Director Muenkel reviewed the exterior design.  Style of building  Listing of prairie style features  Discussed alternative roof styles - Hip vs. Flat Alderman Borgman requested cost comparison on the roof styles. John Sabinash discussed the approximate cost for smaller hip roof sections.  Flat roof - 20 years  Metal roof - 50 years Alderman Borgman inquired if the safety issues at City Hall have been addressed? John Sabinsh confirmed that the safety issues would be addressed in the design. Alderman Kubacki added being open to the designer opinions. Mayor Chiaverotti asked for a show of hands in favor of the hip roof and the flat roof. 4 to 1 in favor of the flat roof. Alderman Borgman opposed. Public information meeting will be set for Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 5:00-7:00 pm. Press release will be prepared. There will be a walk through option at the Police Department.
