NEW BUSINESS
Parks & Conservation Board Discussion
Mayor Chiaverotti recapped the discussion that took place at the Parks & Recreation board
meeting and noted her support of members to consolidate the Parks Board and Conservation
Committee to a 9-member board.
Butch LeDoux indicated his willingness to step down from the Parks Board, and Barb
Schroeder did the same with regard to the Conservation Committee.
The Mayor also noted that Attorney Larsen has communicated that often a committee is
formed rather than a board. She requested that the second reading at Council be waived
because committee appointments need to be made by the next Council meeting on April 28.
3-year staggered terms will be established initially, but as terms expire, each new appointee
will have a 3 year term. The Mayor reiterated that as a council they will have more control over
a committee v. a board since decision making and authorization will ultimately be the Council's
responsibility.
By a straw poll vote, it was unanimous to make these changes.
CLOSED SESSION
Alderman Borgman made a motion to to move into Closed Session, Alderman
Kubacki seconded.
Motion Passed 7 in favor.
Please take notice that following Approval of Minutes and Discussion of Agenda Items, the
Committee of the Whole will convene, upon passage of the proper motion, into Closed Session
pursuant to Wis. Stats.Section §19.85(1)(c) and Section §19.85(1)(e): Considering
