NOTICE OF CLOSED SESSION PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Police & Fire Commission of the City of Muskego will convene upon passage of the proper motion into closed session pursuant to State Statute, Section 19.85 (1) (C ): Considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental bod has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility for the specific of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data, more specifically for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of police officer. Amended/Approved CITY OF MUSKEGO POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION MEEETING Thursday, July 17, 2014 The regular meeting of the City of Muskego Police & Fire Commission was held on Thursday, July 17, 2014, in the conference room of the City of Muskego Police Department. Commissioner Kuwitzky called the meeting to order at 5:05PM. Pledge of Allegiance Roll call was taken with Commissioners Kuwitzky, Treba, Mooney, Whittow and Kuwitzky present. Statement of Public Notice was given to the press and posted on Tuesday, July 15, 20014. Commissioner Whittow made a motion to accept the agenda items and Commissioner Treba seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Mooney made a motion to accept the minutes from the April 16th meeting. Commissioner Whittow seconded and motion carried unanimously. Report From The Police Department: Newly hired officers Lemanczyk and Sippel are near the end of their field training. They will be on their own in August and September. The department received approximately 70 applications for the position of clerk. The police applicants who passed the physical fitness test took the state written test on July 12, 2014. The department’s mock assessment pertaining to accreditation will be held on August 7, 2014. Chief Moser mentioned the department is short six officers. The 2015 budget process has started and the capital portion is due shortly. National Night Out will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Officer Raiche resigned due to having an offer from a department in Nevada. Old Business: The commissioners reviewed the standard operating guidelines. The made some changes and additions and Commissioner Kuwitzky will send out the updated guidelines. Commissioner Gleason made a motion to give the updated version a trial with the present candidates. Commissioner Treba seconded and motion carried unanimously. New Business: Elections were held with Commissioner Mooney nominating Commissioner Kuwitzky for the position of president. Commissioner Whittow seconded and the motion passed with Commissioner Kuwitzky, Mooney and Whittow voting in favor and Commissioner Treba and Gleason not voting. Commissioner Kuwitzky nominated Commissioner Mooney for the position of secretary. Commissioner Whittow seconded and the motion passed with Commissioner Kuwitzky, Mooney and Whittow voting in favor and Commissioner Treba and Gleason not voting. The commissioners concurred on continuing with the hiring process using the current list. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 5:00PM will be the interviews for the next eight candidates. Commissioner Mooney made a motion to adjourn and Commissioner Treba seconded. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 6:05PM. Commissioner Kuwitzky called the meeting to order at 5:00PM. Pledge of Allegiance Roll call was taken with Commissioners, Whittow, Treba, Gleason, Kuwitzky, and Mooney present. Statement of Public Notice was given to the press and posted on Thursday, July 31, 2014. NOTICE OF CLOSED SESSION PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Muskego Police & Fire Commission will convene upon passage of the proper motion into closed session pursuant to State Statute, Section 19.85 (1) ( c): Considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the government body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility for the specific of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation, more specifically for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of police officer. Commissioner Gleason made a motion to go into closed session. Commissioner Treba seconded and motion carried unanimously. The commission moved into closed session at 5:05PM. A motion was made to move back into open session by Commissioner Mooney and seconded by Commissioner Treba. Motion carried unanimously and the commission signed the roster of the five candidates who will continue in the hiring process. Commissioner Treba made a motion to adjourn and Commissioner Kuwitzky seconded. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 8:55PM.
