Janesville & Pioneer: both sides total = 46,500 linear feet (8.81 miles) 2. Areas the city would have to maintain in the event that an ordinance is placed making the property owners maintain their frontage (totals = 8,775’ or 1.66 miles): A. Country Squire (Around Bay lane Dr.) to Sandalwood Drive (south side of Janesville) – 2,460’ B. Library frontage – 400’ C. Martin Drive pond frontage – 435’ D. St. Paul’s Church to College avenue on south side of Janesville Rd – 3,250’ E. Golden Country Estates frontage on north side of Janesville – 1500’ F. New County storm pond by Muskego El on north side of Janesville - 170’ G. Parks Maintenance frontage on Pioneer – 160’ H. Park frontage on Pioneer Dr. – 400’ Annual Costs 8.81 Miles 1.66 Miles Diesel Fuel $ 40. $ 7. Toolcat Fluids $ 17. $ 4. Salt (if applied) $29,700. $5,625. Fleet Maintenance $ $ 720. $ 720. Staff Operating $ (includes FICA) $ 5,760. $1,080. Total Estimate $36,237. $7,436. Capital Costs Toolcat5600 G-series (includes salter) $70,400. $70,400  Salter costs $5,246.65 Grand Total Estimate $106,637 $77,836. PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT W182 S8200 Racine Avenue PO Box 749 Muskego WI 53150-0749 Office (262) 679-4108 Fax (262) 679-5637 There are other issues for the department to discuss and work out for snow removal from these sidewalks: 1. What to do with ruts caused on grass? In spring, more staff time/costs. 2. Snow placed in driveways/parking lots after they have removed their snow. 3. Road debris from Waukesha County snow removal of road (asphalt/curb chunks, garbage, etc.) 4. Where to store bulk salt and piece of equipment (something will be moved outside)? 5. Training of worker using Toolcat every year, if employee not returning. 6. Status of sidewalk (height of water shutoffs/utility manholes/gas caps/heaved concrete, etc). 7. Need to mark sidewalk widths/planters in the fall. These are cost estimates, to the best of our knowledge at this time, for snow removal of sidewalks along Janesville Road and Pioneer Drive. These costs are in addition to the recreation trail snow removal costs (no salt) that we currently perform. Since these sidewalks are 5’ wide, there is no currently used piece of equipment that will satisfy the sidewalk snow removal needs. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. August 25, 2014 To: Committee of the Whole From: Craig Anderson, Parks & Recreation Director Re: Muskego High School Tennis Court Resurfacing The department was recently notified (8/22/2014) that the Muskego Norway School District (MNSD) plans on resurfacing the tennis courts next summer. Per our City/MNSD facilities agreement, the city has agreed to pay a 50% portion of the costs of needed improvements made by the MNSD to the tennis courts. The city shall budget for such costs during the term of this agreement. The MNSD is only requesting 40% of the project cost because that is the community participation percentage of use. The total project cost is $50,000 and the city portion, based on 40%, is $20,000. On a side note, the city and district is working together on extending the current facilities agreement for the upcoming 2-years. The city uses the tennis courts to offer youth and adult tennis lessons and leagues in the spring and summer months. The public also is able to use these tennis courts on a drop-in basis. Thank you for your consideration.
