PRESENT: Chairman Dan Schepp, Henry Schneiker, Mike Brandt, David Conley, Chris Wiken, and Acting Plan
Director Dustin Wolff.
STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE: Secretary reported notice was given May 11, 1999, in accordance with
the Open Meeting Laws.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE APRIL 22, 1999 MEETING. Mike Brandt made a motion to approve the
minutes as presented. Henry Schneiker seconded. Upon voice vote, motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS : Appeal #04-99, Steve and Jodi Pollack, W193 S7391 Richdorf Drive, Tax Key No.
2189.157. REQUESTING: Under the direction of Chapter 17 Zoning Ordinance: Section 17:3.08(1) Appeal
Provisions, Petitioner seeks the one (1) following variances: Chapter 17--Zoning Ordinance: Section 5.02(3)
Building Location: No structure shall be erected, structurally altered or relocated on a lot except within conformity
with the district it is located. Petitioner seeks a 5.8 foot variance to erect a principal structure (a single family
residence) with a 7.55 foot offset from the east property line. The Ordinance requires a 13.35 foot side yard offset
per Section 17:5.02(3)A.1. Zoned: RS-2, Suburban Residence District as modified by Section 17:5.02(3)A.1.
Henry Schneiker administered an oath to Jody and Steve Pollack. Mr. Pollack explained this house was originally
built 7.5’ off of west lot line. The house is smaller than other homes in this area. They want to install a new roof
and new siding to improve the looks of the residence and better the appearance of the subdivision. They wish to
remove the existing garage and build a detached garage.
Dustin Wolff stated the house is substandard in width and the structure is under square footage. The variance
would conform with variances previously granted in area. The structure would become legal structure. Building
was built prior to zoning codes. City would not object to granting this variance.

DELIBERATION: Henry Schneiker made a motion to approve the variance as submitted. David Conley
seconded. Upon roll call vote, motion carried 5-0.
ADJOURN: With no further business to come before this board, Mike Brandt made a motion to adjourn, David
Conley seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
